As EXCLUSIVELY reported yesterday by Kwaraleaks, Mr. Ishola Balogun Fulani, the elsewhere Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State late yesterday took to the press and formally apologized to the leadership of the APC in Kwara state for claiming that there was no APC structure in the state.
Kwaraleaks had reported yesterday that the delicate relationship between the existing members of the APC in the state and the break-away faction of the PDP who defected into the APC was being further threatened by certain statements credited to Mr. Fulani on Wednesday. While briefing the media on the state of the party vis-à-vis their defection into the APC, Mr. Fulani has impertinently claimed that as far as he knew, there was no structure of the APC in the state, and that all existing members of the APC will ‘be accommodated’ in the scheme of things in the party.
These statements have been viewed with serious concerns by the leadership of the APC in the state which promptly fired back at Mr. Fulani and his ‘sponsors’. In a statement read to the media by Rev. Bunmi Olusona, the stakeholders of the APC likened Mr. Fulani, Mr. Bukola Saraki and their defecting members to tenants that are claiming to be bigger than their landlords. They bemoaned his arrogance and warned him to stare clear of their party if he could not abide by their rules.
Sensing the imminent danger, Mr. Bukola Saraki was reported to have ‘called Funali to order’ claiming that he did not want to add more troubles to his already troubled neck by fighting dirty with the leadership of the APC in Kwara state. He therefore ordered Mr. Fulani to make a full retraction of his statement, which retraction he did late yesterday.
Although Mr. Fulani had claimed that he was quoted out of context by the media, Kwaraleaks can report very authoritatively that he was just being clever by half. Our correspondent, who monitored the voice recording of the briefing which held at the former secretariat of the PDP along Nupe road in Ilorin confirmed that Mr. Fulani actually said those statements attributed him by press men
