Hot and Fresh Gist about Kwara State

Friday 29 November 2013

The delicate relationship between the original members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and their defecting friends from the PDP was further threatened Wednesday as a result of the press briefing made by the elsewhere PDP Chairman, Hon. Ishola Balogun-Fulani, Kwaraleaks can authoritatively report.
Informed sources disclosed to Kwaraleaks that already, the leader of the break-away faction of the PDP in the state and a serving Senator, Dr. Bukola Saraki has summoned Balogun-Fulani and ordered for an immediate retraction of the statements considered ‘damaging’ to the delicate relationship between the old and the new members of the APC in Kwara state.
It will be recalled that Mr. Fulani Wednesday, addressed the press on the status of the PDP in Kwara State vis-à-vis the defection of former PDP members into the APC. He was reported to have said that as far as he knew, ‘there is no APC structure in Kwara state….and we are ready to accommodate the few individuals who are in the APC.’.
This assertion has continued to generate a lot of controversies, especially among the original members of the APC. The statement was said to have infuriated some members of the APC who promptly lashed out at Mr. Balogun Fulani and ‘his sponsors’ for  ‘forcefully and fraudulently arrogating to themselves what do not belong to them’. Addressing a counter press conference Thursday, the APC leaders bemoaned what they considered ‘immoral and very unbecoming….of stranger offered a shelter, who now turn around and then tell the person sheltering him that the house actually belongs to him, the stranger and that but for him the house couldn't have existed in the first place!’
Having noticed the reaction from the leaders of the APC in the State, Saraki was said to have immediately called Mr. Balogun-Fulani to order. He reportedly told Mr. Fulani that he had many battles already at hand and does not wish to compound it by going confrontational and hostile with the existing members of the APC. Our source disclosed that Mr. Saraki has therefore ordered an immediate retraction of the statement made by Balogun-Fulani at the Wednesdaypress briefing at the former PDP secretariat
